Trying out a new little sketchbook with handmade paper from Kathmandu, Nepal (See below).
Ballpoint does not dry and you can see where the ink is smeared and stained on the page. It kind of just stays wet. I'm thinking I might have to use a fixative. I have that familiar stain on the butt of my hand and little finger. Might as well use pencil.
READY TO GET WET?
Like kayaking, journaling helps me reinvigorate my creative life. The kayak and journal permit me the freedom to meander and wander as I please. As I do so, what comes back to me is a strong sense of playful curiosity and a renewed hunger to explore.
Creativity has a lot to do with our state of mind. And that playful sense of exploration ...that's what I'm trying to bring to my studio work.
How about you? Where do your ideas come from? How do you cultivate your creative life?
