Hi, my name is Chris Hammond. I am your blog host and author of The Aritst's Kayak.
I am a graphic artist. I mostly draw river landscapes and other themes from nature. I have an interesting way of combining traditional and digital media that I want to share.
I'm offering a free series of "how to" articles, tutorials, and videos - Blending Traditional and Digital: An Approach to Creating Graphic Art.
I think you will find that my stuff is something you can learn and use right away. You can watch my videos and immediately begin building your own projects.
This tutorial series leads up to and culminates in a special offer to join me for an experience of lifetime ...a 4 day creative adventure kayak tour and digital workshop.
The kayak tour and workshop is a carefully orchestrated trip for professional artists (some restrictions apply in terms of age, weight, and physical ability). The tour is designed to help us make a better mind/body/spirit connection with nature. It is also designed to stimulate our thinking in how we incorporate traditional media into our digital studio environment.
The Artist's Kayak Creative River Tour is a metaphor for our creative journey in our professional life. We navigate along the river from point A to point B just as we navigate through a complexion of creative issues in our studio. Kayaking the river is an obvious backdrop for engaging nature themes and lanscape. But this experience is more than a backdrop. It is a unique workspace that connects and integrates us with the waterway landscape - above and below the water's surface. Traveling down river, we create our projects in harmony with the bob and flow of kayak and water.
