Out there on the edge of the lake, I was looking at the mesmerizing pattern of lights and darks and the way they transition as the water floods in little waves onto the rock strewn shore. We can talk about the water and rocks, but at the end of the day it is the reflections (light) that carries through the wave action, breaking and spilling into the rocks, wet and reflective. Not really a simple subject to draw, but fun to study. This subject forces you to forget about objects and even shapes... you really have to back off and find the pattern and motion of it.
